Finnish consulting company Avaus published an updated version of their Finnish MarkTech landscape, with 71 new marketing technology companies added to the map. The listing is inspired by the famous MarTech 5000 landscape originally made by Scott Brinker. Despite being a small country, Finland seems to have a vibrant MarkTech scene. The report by Avaus identifies 186 Finnish MartTech companies, which combined have revenues of approximately 300 million euros.

The report paints an optimistic picture of the Finnish MarkTech landscape. Finnish MarkTech companies, which consist mainly of small but innovative players, have experienced an overall increase in the revenue as well as an increase in external funding into these companies since the previous report in 2017. The biggest MarkTech players in Finland are established companies in publishing, software or data management, that have diversified into solutions fitting the marketing technology landscape. Avaus suggests, that the edge for Finnish companies in the global playing field is AI solutions. The report also points out, that for a small country like Finland, exceptional strength in a specific area seems more likely to succeed than a generalist one on a globalized playing field.
